A woman will face court today charged with various offences after allegedly stealing a car, attempting to evade police, and crashing into a fence in Sydneys south-west.
Just after midday yesterday (Monday 16 April 2018), officers from the Criminal Groups Squads Strike Force Raptor were patrolling Townview Road, Mount Pritchard, when they noticed a white Nissan Pulsar driving erratically.
The Nissan did not have number plate on the front, and checks revealed the rear plate was stolen.
Officers attempted to stop the Nissan, but the driver failed to stop, and a police pursuit was initiated.
Police pursued the Nissan for a short period of time through the area, and as the Nissan returned to Townview Road, it crashed into a fence.
No one was injured, but the fence and Nissan were damaged.
The female driver ran from the scene before being arrested by police a short distance away.
A check of the womans provisional P2 licence revealed she is disqualified from driving until 2023.
The 24-year-old Mount Pritchard woman was taken to Fairfield Police Station and charged with police pursuit - not stop - drive dangerously (Skyes Law), take and drive conveyance without consent of owner, drive motor vehicle during disqualification period, destroy or damage property, dishonestly obtain property by deception, and an arrest warrant for unrelated fraud offences.
She was refused bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court today (Tuesday 17 April 2018).
