WASHINGTON, Nov. 8 -- Rep. Evan Jenkins, R-W.Va., issued the following statement regarding the news that Cardinal Health CEO George Barrett is stepping down:
"Cardinal Health and their executives must be held accountable for their role in the opioid crisis ravaging West Virginia and other states.
"Pharmaceutical companies like Cardinal Health under Barrett's leadership shipped millions of pain pills to West Virginia, fueling addiction and a public health crisis.
"Instead of blaming institutions like Lily's Place for the drug crisis, drug executives need to take responsibility for what they have done to West Virginia."
